Right Now

Right now, Molly and I are whittling away our afternoon, staying out of this ridiculous heat. I was up early this morning to do chores, in order to avoid roasting this afternoon!!

Our town is on voluntary water rations right now. The hubby and I made the choice to go ahead and stop watering our lawn and garden. It's sad to think all that work we put in the yard is coming to an end, but we need to do all we can to allot for those who have livestock, pastures, families, etc. So for now, our grass will stay a lil crunchy...ah well.

So here Molly and I sit, soon Daddy will join us. I think a game is in the works today, and maybe some BBQ later.

Hopefully everyone is staying cool as best as possible!!

I pray Fall is around the corner (somewhere)....

It seems that this afternoon has finally brought us a little break in the heat, but only because it has gotten very cloudy and we have rumbles of thunder and flashes of lightning. Very, very little rain. :( It has been in the upper 90s all week, with a heat index well over 100. NOT my fave weather and I, too, am looking for October. Wonder where it's hiding? ;)

It has been so hot here too, Jaclyn. My yard has crunchy spots too. Kind of crazy, but I guess this is the way it is when there is an La Nina in the Pacific Ocean.

I pray that we get rain, a good soaking rain soon! Our friends are depending on their corn crop to buy a farm! Lord send the rain!

I can only imagine how hot it must be there!! We are miserable in VA yesterday it was 118 with the humidity and I have had to keep my children in since two have asthma and all the advisories are in effect for poor air quality. They are crawling the walls! We look forward to autumn and cider and our annual Halloween bash to get us through these hot days!
